I left the house with a plan. Grab something to eat, do a baby shower run at Target, and come back and post. Two out of three got done.
I have been searching for a better tool for completing tasks than my mind and my intent. Both are good in the short term but not sustainable for accomplishing long term goals.
This post is about the tools we use on our journey to success. Tools help build habits. For my health goals, I got my tools and I am working to be consistent with using them. I track my food and weight in my Weight Watchers app. I have a Fitbit to help track other health goals. I utilize my kp.org
app to track my overall health. If I utilize these tools then I can keep an overall idea of how I am doing towards the goals I have set for myself.
I have not found the tools to help me keep track of other goals I have on my list. Like this blog, my writing, and ramping my coaching business up to the next level. I spent time with a friend this past two weeks and she was using a Commit30 book to track her monthly goals across the board. I have one of those, in fact, I bought hers and mine as a Christmas present two years ago. Mine is gathering dust.
I spoke with another friend and we discussed lists. I have lists and they help with daily goals to accomplish and getting an idea of what's on my plate but I am not per se a list follower. I use lists mainly to get things out of my head.
Accountability and check-in partners have been a big key to keeping me on track though. I have calendar dates with a few of my friends where we do check-ins on big life goals. I have a few friends who track their fitness goals by Instagram posting. I am thinking about doing that for my joyful movement (exercise) tracking.
I made a commitment to start writing with a group at least twice a month. Today is my first day and I am excited. I will let you all know how that went.
In the meanwhile, I am curious, what tools or practices do you use to keep your goals on track? Let me know! Thanks. Have a wonderful day. ❤️
